Factory ground *PIC* () David Weaver
i tracked that picture down to an 1862 marples catalog. The mortise chisels that I have are likely from 1822 - 1850.

I see none with a short flat bevel, and none without the characteristic curve at the top of the primary bevel unless they are very short.
