Additionally I concur that mortising is not the ideal place for the low bevel angle followed by buffing, however it did provide an intense wear environment.
I'm not going to dismiss this profile on a mortise chisel. I usually do a tiny secondary bevel and it would seem that this rounded one would be better, easier to do.
I just did some kitchen knives. Fantastic. If it has an edge I am going to try it.
