...seeing what you come up with.
This is sort of like the double iron in a way. you'll quickly find a way to improve edge durability (just as setting the double iron close quickly eliminates any significant tearout).
Then, it's a matter of experimenting with application to see how easy you can make the chisel cut without it taking on any significant damage as it would with a single flat edge.
