This has been a fascinating topic so I couldn't resist getting the drill mount buffing wheels and giving it a try. Hopefully another data point will be helpful.
The chisel was prepared on a Washita, then black Arkansas and leather strop so was quite sharp beforehand. I used Mothers mag polish and probably 3-5 seconds against a chisel edge. It shaved hair easier than off the ark and strop treatment. Like discussed elsewhere there appears to be a tiny polished bevel if you tilt the chisel in the right way. Longevity testing to continue.
