When I hand ground the profile I thought I was raising the tool up about 40 degrees and this angle created a robust profile. By my crude measurement I think your profile is about 40 degrees or a bit more at the very edge.
I estimated the "glint" I saw reflected from this edge to be about the size you are measuring. So it would seem that a target is increase the bevel angle to 40 degrees for about 0.005" ?
Will you estimate how many seconds you buffed?
