That's correct Jim. I still consider the process recommended by Tormek to produce a result that is simply polished serrations or, as you referred to, polished tooth.
Is it possible to create a flat/coplanar, smooth and polished edge this way? It is not that different from what Paul Sellers does, that is, he goes from 1000 grit (diamond stone) to 0.5 microns (green compound), with about 50 heavy strokes on the latter. Obviously, he would say one can do it. I wonder what his edges would look like under a microscope?
