machine made from hida

Azabiki ()

Hida has a $33 machine made azebiki (fukagawa brand) that I've used on and off for years and it's been more accurate against a guide than any western saw I've used.

depth of cut without removing lateral material is limited to somewhere around the tooth depth, but for dadoes and such, it's no problem to cut half depth and then remove the waste side and the finish the cut.

Since there are so few teeth in the cut, I'm sure mine has dulled a little bit but the small number of teeth in the cut at any give time makes it so that it still saws well and quickly.
