I have found that if you break them carefully, with the grain on one side only, and then wrap the opposite side in a small piece of wet paper towel and heat it in a microwave for (in mine) 20 seconds, the wet side becomes flexible enough to open the break and work it around the other ring. Then line the broken spot back up and glue together. Sometimes you will need to bring the ends together while it is still hot and put on a small clamp until it cools to make the glue up work better.
