Subject:
Time to replace tools

Bruce, a MN Galoot
I’m in the process of replacing my chisels. I got my chisels with my Delta Dual Duty lathe when I was about 12 (more than 50 years ago) from my grandmother. Along with that came a set of old Buck Bros carbon steel chisels. They work okay for smaller projects but don’t hold an edge very long. So I’m thinking about replacing them with some HSS tools.

Are there any particular brands to look for, or, just as importantly, are there any brands to avoid? I have one Sorby skew, but that’s it.
