Subject:
MDF

Darrin hill

I'm piddling around with segments for such purposes as a ring around the lip of a hollow form,,,

and I've been reading Tibbits book on "the art of segmented wood turning..."

And I want to try to do the one on page 72.. but his jig on page 74 is made out of MDF.. is there any reason to use MDF instead of lumbeR? I have a VERY small shop and buying a whole 4X8 sheet of MDF and only using 3% of it to make the jig is not really an option cause I have no place to store thE leftover bit..

Opinions?
