celulose is an accelerant for many types of ca. in an industrial setting we removed all paper towels, card board and cotton gloves from areas where we used ca. i have seen industrial ca spilled on a cardboard box smolder, cotton gloves burn, saw dust smolder, paper towels burn, adding water will make it rediculously hot. for disposal - to avoid dumpster fires - we started out neutralizing left over ca in 1lb bottles by filling the bottles with water, the plastic bottles got so hot they couldnt be picked up and there was less than 1/4" of ca in bottom of the bottles. moved to dumping into 5 gallon buckets of water and the water got noticeably warm.
