Hand Tools Archive

Late to the party

Oskar
Hi all,

I´ve been away from home, and been offline since end of May. Just returned and found the hand tools forum boiling with unicorn stuff. I´ve tried to catch up on unread posts and threads but for sure have missed some parts.

I´d like to try this, especially on my paring chisels that often get edge damage, and I don´t like to raise the sharpening angle anymore.

I don´t have a buffer. I do have stones, from course to very fine, and flat leather strops, some with fine compound on (for carving tools).

Is there a short description of bevel setup, angles and all and unicorning by hand?

Sorry if this has been written out a thousand times already. Please direct me if this is the case.

Best,

Oskar
