I don't think so, but I'm far from a historian. i just reread Patrick Leach's discourse on the Bedrocks, http://www.supertool.com/StanleyBG/stan15.htm but don't see that mentioned.

However, Lie-Nielsen didn't and still doesn't cal theirs #60x. I don't understand why. Note that L-N's #1 is not a Bedrock. The only place you can get a #601 (or could 20 years ago) is from Patrick Leach. http://www.supertool.com/601.htm

All that said and referenced, I also question to some extent the need for a rapidly adjusted frog (and mouth opening), knowing that opening and closing the mouth is not nearly as effective as adjusting the chip breaker.
