Thanks

I'm 75 and could check out unexpectedly (by vectors unheard of 3 months ago) so I want to thank forum members for urging me to go hollow grind. I got a cheap Dewalt grinder and a CBN wheel a couple of years ago. Recently, I have been regrinding bevels on chisels and plane irons, then sharpening them freehand on 2 long and heavy cast iron plates with 2000 and 14,000 oil-based diamond paste. The pastes are 50% concentration and create immediate dark swarf. Just a piece of paper towel to clear the 2000 grit from my hands and the blade before going to the fine grit. The final step is a quick strop with chromium oxide powder. I love the edges and the speed with which I can produce them. None of this is new but a composite of the wealth of advice on this forum.
