Thanks for the attestation, John. A lot of the literature about powder metals discusses the improvements in their grindability (and thus presumably sharpenability) and then refers to their improved wear characteristics to go along with that.

I'm curious as to what the iron will do in the test, but also hoping i can manage to find a clear span of wood with no defects for a duration long enough to go with this and V11. 4000 feet of planing with two irons in heart beech seems possible.
