There is definitely more to workability than just janka, but it's a big part.

Beech and hard maple are very close together, and ash is probably close to them (white, green, whatever....).

Dimensioning hard maple from rough is the worst of that bunch by a bigger factor than any particular hardness. No clue what it is other than it is.
