The plane handles are perfect, super crispy lines.

I like the finish of #0000 steel wool or super fine scotch bright over sanding. It tends to be similar looking to a high grit paper. I like it especially for chair legs because it is a lot easier to deal with than high grit paper which clogs.

I could see a production shop using a belt sander with a table and a stop, that would make them nicely without more than a few moments effort.

If I had to take a guess, a $1400 finished product is probably allocated about 1.5-2 hrs total work time from rough stock to finished product. I can certainly see how they quickly double when it becomes custom.
