Hmm, it doesn't say what steel it is either there or on the manufacturer's site. "Spring steel" is like "Cr-V" in that it can be a wide range of stuff, though usually at least AISI 1075.

I think I'd pay the extra $10-20 to know that I'm getting properly hardened 1095 in the thickness I want, unless I had no other choice.
