I've successfully used the Tormek leather wheels including the smaller profiled ones that they sell for carving tools. It's basically the same (and has the same tradeoffs) as any other powered polisher

Admittedly going from that 220# main wheel to the leather polishing wheel is quite a step, and requires much more time on the leather than I prefer. Some people (Pete Taran for example) seem to work around that by getting a second grinder with the 4000# "Japanese Waterstone" wheel, but that just seems excessive to me.
