This question is one I have always struggled with - how to gauge from day to day (sometimes there is a week or two interval) if the consistency is the same.

Especially in cooler weather I will get out my large lazy susan, stack the boards with spacers, and spend several minutes trying to warm the edges to be glued with hot hide glue, using a hot air gun.
