Re: spear point router plane blades

John Schtroumpf
In real life, making something parallel never truly happens. If the blade of a router plane is off of parallel in the wrong direction, the heel of the blade will contact the wood first, and the blade won't cut well, if at all. So to make sure the blade cuts, the bottoms of router plane blades are angled a little, so that the cutting edge of the blade hits the wood first.
