Multitasking

Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
I presume you are referring to the Japanese saw?. Hadn't a clue. But it fits the miter box slot and cuts quickly, way more quickly than the saw the box was made for, which I now never use. "Gent saws" have all the disadvantages of Japanese saws and cut slow to boot. I might "better" be using a bench hook and LV cross cut, but the shooting board is occupying the bench hook position and the vice was clear to hold the miter box, AKA miniature double sided bench hook.

I bought it inexpensively from Japan Woodworker back when we had a wholesale dealer account there. Woodcraft acquisition killed that arrangement. I tried it for dovetails and didn't like it. Son-in-law, on the other hand, prefers it. I suggested he buy his own. Occasionally it fits a task so I keep it around. So long as it cuts fast I'm happy.
