Thanks David! Wow, those are especially impressive considering that the thing cost $12, lol.
The high power photos seem pretty useful, you can see that little bit of foil and contrast and compare different finish stones. Always interesting of course that the best finish is not necessarily the best shave.
Sounds similar to what I heard from Stan WRT Kez, in that basically he saw competitors getting fine shavings off bevels finished to 1k....that shocked me. The backs, apparently were very finely finished. I've not heard that anywhere else, to that same extreme, but I have heard of people only working to 6k~ on the bevel side. I assume the edge wears out fairly quickly.
