It's not really much different than introducing woodworkers with experience only with circular saws, framing hammers and battery powered drills to the terminology in Roubo (in either the original French or translated modern English) or Moxon or even Peter Galbert. In all cases, the terms are initially meaningless, but become more familiar with exposure and repeated use.

When I was writing technical specifications, our rules were to spell out acronyms and unfamiliar terms on their first use in the document, and then use the short from thereafter, and also to include a glossary at the back of the document with all the acronyms and unfamiliar terms defined again.
