Hi Brian,

I enjoyed the detailed description and level of detail and illustration you provide. A few questions:

1. Hammer. What weight hammer are you using? Is that a boat-builder's hammer, that you have ground back?

2. Ito-ura. Do you simply grind metal off the chisel, in order to obtain the very thin land? I mean, after the chisel has been prepared as you describe.

3. I couldn't follow what was going on in that picture that showed the squarish stick of wood in the middle of the ura of the chisel, with the chisel shimmed.
