If you don't know the answer to my serious question, why not just say so? If you do know the answer, why not share it with us and save us the time of doing a redundant experiment? Right now, I don't have the SiC powder, and I don't have two identical dirty oil stones for the experiment. I have always been happy with the results of flattening my Arkansas stones on a diamond plate with oil, so the additional mess that I can imagine would result from mixing oil and water would need to be countered by some significant advantage before I went to the trouble of experimenting with it.
