This translation is great! I'm enjoying the "curious" read of the text! Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Are there any illustrations that went along with the text, or was the original treatise text only? There are no references to figures, etc...

Reminds me of the many, much later, how-to-do-it volumes for similar varnishing and paint making tasks. "Fortunes in Formulas" is one of the better volumes out there from, I think, the 1920's. However, I like the English "spoken" in your transcription better!
