Subject:
Woodworking reenactors?

Dick Coers
I've gotten quite interested in my family history since retiring. I've been hanging around 3 different county historical and genealogy societies. The little local society in Emden, Il is where I want to help. That is the town my ancestors immigrated to in 1885. I suggested, at one of the monthly meetings, that we have a craft reenactment at the yearly homecoming celebration. I find information on civil war and earlier woodworking. Anyone participate anywhere in period from 1885 to early 1900? I have a treadle lathe and plan on working with that and some bench work to make spoons and other kitchen ware. Suggestions on costume, organizations, and experiences would be appreciated.
