Like a "green thumb", but for steel.....

The diversion to how one sharpens has my interest, since I don't have a spare saw table to chop up.

I think my .5 micron paste on steel plate creates a nice reflection. A quick lesson from a turner (different steels, different abrasive needs) discouraged me from using leather. That, on top of dulling chip carving blades on leather strops.... Those things are best for childhood education. But the leather age is a little before me.
