Subject:
PMV-11: how good do you find it to be?

Lars Parrington
Given all the hoo-ha about PMV-11 in the other thread (and whether Bill T should reveal it's chemical makeup), I'm wondering, are any of you head over heels for PMV-11? If you own some, what is your subjective opinion of it?

Personally, I've got 4 plane irons of PMV-11. One a LV shoulder plane, and the other 3 retrofits into stanley planes (#4, #7, and #62). I've been using these irons for almost 2 years now and still am not sure whether they really hold an edge any better than the original stanley irons.

I don't have any A2 or O1 irons to compare to. Also I don't have any PMV-11 chisels.
