Subject:
coopered box lid

Bruce Mack
I have made coopered box lids but cannot make end caps for the lid that fit nicely into the concavity. While the convexity has a fair curve, pleasing to the eye and touch, the concavity is faceted. This is esthetically acceptable, but contributes to the difficulty of scribing the inside curve and trying to make an end cap to match. I could use filler or apply the end cap to the edge of the lid, planing to match the curve. Neither prospect feels right. Any suggestions please?
