Subject:
Steel for tools analysis

Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
I will likely be able to analyze steel next week. If anyone has a curiosity about the composition of this or that steel, and I happen to have a piece or tool on hand, I will likely be able to get it analyzed. I am going to get an analysis on the Two Cherries steel, taking along a chisel for analysis.

I can't get a value for carbon as it involves destroying the sample. But for other stuff I can do it on a chisel or plane blade, non destructively.
