Progress and another whatsit *PIC*

Hello:

I've got another chisel handle done mostly done (still needs washers). Since I don't actually have too many different drill bits, I used the technique wherein the socket taper is measured at the top and again using an item that is placed into the socket. I think this will work for the remaining ones.

I also found another odd tool that I'd like some confirmation on. I believe it is a small calvo type mallet for carving. It has a bore in the weighted end and another hollow in the base of the handle, neither of which are threaded. The handle is knurled. I think this is a mallet, but I've not seen one this small before. It kind of appears to have been a DIY job as the bore in the head is rather deep for what I would consider a commercial product. But what do I know?

Any thoughts?

CJ
