Kayoko found my finish stone too. I had asked her to keep her eyes open for one. She called months later to tell me she had found one. I swallowed hard when she told me how much it cost, but I had comitted to her and wouldn't let her down. It's a great stone and it really shines with my Japanese blades. I don't use it on anything else.

It's my understanding that Kayoko had (still has?) the privilege, on occasion, of selecting natural stones from a large collection from various quarries before they are offered for market. Wherever she finds them, she comes up with great stones.
