Yes, if it's fine enough. The main think in this case is being very finely ground so that you get maximum contact with the surface.

Clay litter could perhaps do without the fine grind, because like the DE or a zeolite, it's kind of absorbent.

Any other fine powder will work really, flour, cornstarch, etc. Lots of surface area is the thing if it's not a powder with absorbent properties. Some of them are a bit of a pain to clean up though :D
