Subject:
Drawer bottom thickness?

JL
The LOML wants a storage cabinet in the kitchen to replace our old one.
The old one has shelves and was moved into the garage when we replaced our flooring.

Anyway - she would like to have drawers for the lower portion.
Typically I use 1/4" plywood for drawer bottoms. The intended use for the lowest drawer in the new cabinet is to store cooling racks (no problem, light weight) and our half sheet aluminum "bun" pans - of which we have a few :b. The drawer size is on the order of 28" W x 26" deep x 8" H. The other two drawers will be similar in size - but will be used to store Tupperware and such.

Thoughts? I have enough 1/4" and enough 1/2" on hand to do either.
