Subject:
Barrister bookcase door - hardware?

Henry (Raleigh NC)
I have installed a built-in cabinet, and now have decided to install a door on the bottom shelf. For a variety of reasons, primarily space constraints, I believe the best choice is an upswing door, like that on a barrister bookcase. This is an inset door where the top moves to the back when the door is lifted.
My question is about hardware.
- Is this made with a simple pin riding in a track? if so how does one ensure that with uneven movement (left to right) that the pin stay in the track?
- Or is more sophisticated hardware available?
I have been thinking about trying to adapt drawer slides, but haven't quite wrapped my head around it.

Thanks,
Henry
