Subject:
under sink cut-off valve question *PIC*

Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
Is there one that doesn't leak when turned after a year of in use open in hard water ?

The old style that had the handle invariably leaked in hard water situations after sitting for a year or years and then rotated. I got rid of them and replaced with a tiny ball valve kind as shown....

Just replaced the carbon cartridge for the drinking water. Valve was hard to turn to turn off. When opened it is leaking a tiny amount. I am sure calcium deposit scored the ball.
