Subject:
Long very accurate cuts?

Paul Woolson
Hi all, I need a bit of brainstorming help.
I've got a bunch of long, narrow, thin strips that I need to, very accurately, remove .020" from the height. They are currently 32"X.420"X.060". And I need to make that .420" to be .400"
My first and probably most obvious thought was a thin kerfed fine toothed blade on the table saw, but it was quite difficult to hold the piece securely to the fence, so my cut was inaccurate. I've tried feather boards and micro jig push blocks but haven't had much success.
I've also got a wide belt sander but I can't think of how to hold them on edge like that.
Any ideas of how to do this, best?
Thanks, Paul
