Cohen leg on Ruhlmann furniture, nearly *PIC*

We were recently treated to a picture of a table with nifty side attached legs. I just encountered some that are similar, with no clue of how they are attached.

The legs are a hallmark of designer Ruhlmann. They have the same uplifting effect as Cohen's legs. They look so frail on the large Ruhlmann chests. But he put them on lots of furniture so they must have been mechanically robust. It would be nice to know how they are attached
