Prime 2 x 4's at the big blue box....

Barry Irby
I needed some stickers for the logs I had cut into slabs. In the past I have gone to Lowe's a bought the rejected lumber they sell at a deep discount. This time, no such luck, so I bought some 8' Prime 2 x 4's and ripped them. I picked through the pile and got the better ones. As if such a thing existed. Essentially every one of them had the pith in them and almost all had wane or bark edges. That means the trees they come form couldn't have been over about 5 or 6" in diameter. Looking at the end of the pile you could see that most had been sawed as a 4 by 4 and split into two 2 x 4's. Amazing....
