I know these routers have speed control to allow the use of very large bits/cutters. What I am thinking is maybe it's not a good idea to install anything in a router that can not tolerate the full speed of the motor. I don't think anyone would want to operate those big panel raising bits at full speed, but I don't think they would explode before you could turn the router off.
