Wedding Box
Undulating laminations atop beautiful burl veneer is an invitation for the eye.

I received an e-mail from one of my granddaughters, who is planning on getting married next year, asking me to make her a wedding box. I replied that I did not know what a wedding box was nor did her grandmother. She replied that it is what the wedding guests put their gift cards in at a wedding reception. I answered her back that they didn't do that when our six daughters got married but that I would see what I could come up with.
The box I made for her has burl veneered sides, trimmed in maple and zebrawood. It measures about a foot long. There is a slot in the top, not apparent in the photo, to insert the cards.
