Fred's Chair
Keeping an earlier promise, it's finally built.

SHOP OWNER: Fred Davis
Abilene, KS

This chair is a reproduction of a circa-1525 Dantesque chair, which was donated by Baroness Von Doorn and presently resides in the Philadelphia Fine Arts Museum.
Fred's Chair
It appeared in the 1959 Delta Gram Yearbook, which I have had since it was published and always told myself one day I would make it.
Fred's Chair
The wood I used, as in the original, is black walnut. The finish is clear semi-gloss pre-cat lacquer.
Fred's Chair
Although it's hard to tell, the original is a folding chair. Since I didn't like what you had to do to fold the chair, mine does not.
