SHOP OWNER: Fred Davis LOCATION: Abilene, KS This chair is a reproduction of a circa-1525 Dantesque chair, which was donated by Baroness Von Doorn and presently resides in the Philadelphia Fine Arts Museum. ![]() It appeared in the 1959 Delta Gram Yearbook, which I have had since it was published and always told myself one day I would make it. ![]() The wood I used, as in the original, is black walnut. The finish is clear semi-gloss pre-cat lacquer. ![]() Although it's hard to tell, the original is a folding chair. Since I didn't like what you had to do to fold the chair, mine does not. . . .
