It Took Me Years to Find This Machine… Now What?

3 May 2026 at 12:01

πŸ’Ύ

Big thanks to Bambu Lab for supporting the channel β€” check out their printers here: https://dada.link/ia28Zl

I’ve been looking for one of these for a couple of years and when this 1957 Kuhlmann pantograph finally turned up, it definitely needed some attention.
In this video I go through the process of bringing it back to life β€” cleaning, repairing, and getting it working the way it should. It’s a really interesting machine, almost like a manual CNC, and now that it’s set up properly it’s incredibly satisfying to use.

Hope you enjoy the process

Traditional Joinery in Steel… But Did I Make It Too Light?

22 March 2026 at 11:49

πŸ’Ύ

In this video I’m building a 3.6m wide steel gate using rivets and traditional joinery, with very little welding. It’s lighter than I originally planned, so I wasn't sure how it would handle flex.

The build uses a mix of mortice and tenon joints in steel along with riveted connections, rather than relying on welding for everything.

Building a Vintage Machine Stand - Doesn't Have to be Boring

15 February 2026 at 13:04

πŸ’Ύ

I wanted to make a cool stand for a 60 year old bandsaw I recently bought, but give it the look of old workshop furniture. The legs are designed to look like cast iron, even though they're actually made from plywood. This video is more about the design and process and just enjoying a fun project.

Forging a Steel Box With No Cuts and No Welding (After Many Failures)

11 January 2026 at 12:39

πŸ’Ύ

There's much easier ways to make a box than this, but I wanted to know if I could form one entirely from a single piece of steel. Along the way I learned a lot about how the material actually wants to move, and why some approaches don’t work so well. The video is about figuring out a method, not making a perfect object.

Making a Chisel Unlike Anything You’ve Seen

7 December 2025 at 14:27

πŸ’Ύ

In this video I’m making a fully custom chisel using mosaic Damascus steel, ivory micarta and a fluted handle with silver wire inlay. It’s not meant for everyday woodworking β€” this project is all about learning new techniques and trying to make something special. The Damascus was made by my mate Jackson Rumble (Mastersmith knife maker) and I’ve been saving it for a few years. If you enjoy toolmaking, Damascus steel, metalwork, or detailed woodworking builds, you’ll like this one.

Modifying and Restoring a Mystery Vice

19 October 2025 at 12:11

πŸ’Ύ

I came across this old pattern makers vice a while ago β€” not sure how old it is or who made it, but it’s built like a tank and pretty cool. It worked okay as it was, but I thought it deserved some attention. One thing I wanted to figure out was adding dogs as for some reason, wasn't a feature even though every other pattern makers vice I've seen has them.

Turning Steel and Wood into an Epic Workbench

20 September 2025 at 12:26

πŸ’Ύ

I finished the workbench using the industrial style legs that I made in the last video. I wanted it to be strong, functional, and give it that old railway workshop style. I still need to install the two vices which I'm planning to do in my next video.

It really was a fun project, going all out with style rather than regular uprights and horizontals, not sure what you think of it but i love it.

These Legs Look 100 Years Old (But I Just Made Them)

14 September 2025 at 12:10

πŸ’Ύ

In this video I start building a new workbench by fabricating heavy duty metal legs. They’re made from plain angle iron but I shaped and finished them to look like vintage cast iron. They're strong enough to last for more than a lifetime and (hopefully you agree) with some style.

Making a Tiffany Lamp with No Experience – And One Huge Mistake

6 July 2025 at 12:11

πŸ’Ύ

I’ve never worked with glass before, so I decided to jump in at the deep end and build a Tiffany lamp, probably one of the most complex stained glass projects to tackle. It turned into a massive amount of work, and somewhere along the way, I made a huge mistake that nearly ruined the whole thing.

How to Make the Easiest Patterned Veneers - Turn Regular Plywood into Designer Plywood

1 June 2025 at 13:38

πŸ’Ύ

I’ve made a fair amount of patterned wood before β€” some of it pretty complicated β€” but this time I wanted to try something quicker and more approachable. In this video, I’m turning plywood scraps into thin pattern veneers and using them to upgrade regular plywood. It’s pretty fast, surprisingly effective, and a great way to make a cool looking panel for furniture projects.

Making Unique Dividers – Just Hand Tools and Patience

18 May 2025 at 13:04

πŸ’Ύ

Limited Time Plans Bundle: https://paskmakes.com/premier-top-tier-woodworking-plans-bundle

In this video, I’m making a pair of dividers entirely by hand using only basic tools the only power tool I use is a drill. It was an awesome challenge which I really enjoyed. I’ve wanted to make a pair of these for a few years, and after seeing a pair made by Seth Gould during a recent scissor-making course with my mate Matt, I finally decided to give it a go.

The design is more difficult than it needed to be but I really liked the unique wing so I went with it.

The Most Useful Knife I’ve Ever Made – And It’s Shockingly Easy

12 April 2025 at 13:21

πŸ’Ύ

In this video, I’m making two folding pocket knives from scrap β€” one from an old hacksaw blade and one from a worn-out file. The first one is super easy and perfect if you’ve never made a folding knife before. You don’t need any fancy tools, and you can knock it out in an afternoon.

This is the kind of knife you’ll actually use in the workshop β€” small, handy, and built from stuff you probably already have lying around.

Check out https://wazer.com for more info on this amazing machine.

Turning Scrap Wood into a Stunning Retro Swivel Chair! - Scrapwood Challenge ep56

16 February 2025 at 12:13

About a year ago I saw a 70's style retro swivel chair (made from plastic) for sale on Facebook marketplace. I really liked the shape and thought it would be an interesting project to make from wood. I planned on finishing the whole project in one video but it was taking too long and the video was getting long too. Part 2 shouldn't be too far away. :)

Making Brass Hardware for a Ships Wheel
