I've been doing a little blind hollowing of dry endgrain through a small opening, and I have a tool tip.
For years, I've been using the typical "straight" tool with the Oland scraper bit. It works fine, but I got to wondering if there might now be an alternate approach with some of my "other" tools, namely Hunter cup cutters, particularly for the dry wood I'm using. So I pushed my Hunter Osprey in (flat and level and on center) at a slight horizontal angle to work off the center hole. Bingo. It works great. Nice shavings and no drama. Works in both directions. I like it. YMMV.
