Wire gauge vs drill bit wire gauge vs inches

Fine, wire gauge is different from inches, but WHY are wire gauge drill bits different from wire gauges?!?

I have 0.032" wire. That is 20 gauge wire. But the wire gauge drill bit to use is 67?

Just seeking some edification here. How does this make any sense?
