here is a shot of a couple mango bowls I turned this week. 4" high

Mango has a very unpredictable grain and figure, but it's a good utilitarian wood. It is soft yet holds detail pretty well. It sucks up oil like you wouldn't believe. I've been using a wax salad bowl finish on it to seal yet retain the color as much as possible.
