I have made a flattening contraption to use on some large red oak slabs. Wanted a big router bit. Found an Amana 2267 (I think) that has three wings with interchangeable Carbide cutters. Rated to run 22,000 rpm. My ancient dedicated router runs 24,000. I sent an e-mail to the selling company asking if it would be safe to run at 24,000. Their answer was that it "produces the optimal finish at the rated speed."
Is that an answer? The bit is about $175 on sale. I don't want it to kill me.
