Howard posted a question about deep epoxy repair right before the message board blew up and consequently didn't get many responses. This post has two purposes - (1) to provide additional info that may be helpful to Howard or others and (2) to test the upload and web page link features of the new message board.
The image is a photo capture of a tips and tricks page of a farm publication I receive. I have used this technique to rebuild an oak door threshold and it has held up well. I used Bondo as the filler since it was not too deep. The link provided is to a product that was recommended to me for doing high strength wood repair. Judging by its reviews on Amazon, It appears to have some merit. I plan to order some and experiment with it, but can't yet personally attest to its effectiveness. Hope this is useful.
